Santa Claus will be visiting the Lewisville Branch of the Forsyth County Public Library virtually all the way from the North Pole on Thursday, Dec. 16 at 10 a.m. Join us for stories, songs, and activities for children on a Christmas holiday theme. Recommended for ages 2 and up.


Gingerbread Contest

Calling all gingerbread architects! Families, teams and individuals can build a gingerbread creation (house, train, library, etc.) for a contest that is coming soon. We will accept photographs of your creations as entries starting Dec. 1 by emailing Mia Jordan at jordanmc@forsyth.cc. Start planning your creation now so you can participate. 2021 Reading Challenge at Lewisville

Your library challenges you to read a variety of books throughout the year. Complete the reading challenge, which encourages readers to step into a wide variety of stories and genres. Forms are available at the Lewisville Branch or you can click the webstory for a printable copy. When you finish, please submit your form to the Lewisville Branch Library by Friday, Dec. 10 to be entered in the drawing for a $25 Barnes & Noble gift card. The winner will be announced Monday, Dec. 13. Good luck.


Meeting Rooms Will Reopen on Nov. 15

The library will reopen its meeting rooms to the public on Monday, Nov. 15 with a new reservation system. FCPL asks customers to continue to observe county guidelines by wearing masks when using meeting rooms, regardless of their vaccination status. Customers who want to reserve meeting rooms will need to call the location where they plan to hold their meeting.


Art for Well-being

Would you like to dabble in paint and relax at the same time? Join us for a free art class at the Lewisville Branch Library on Thursday, Dec. 2 at 10 - 11:30 a.m. Local artist and occupational therapist Patty Donoghue returns to teach a simple art technique using watercolor and ink. Participants will also learn that the process of creating art promotes well-being and reduces stress, which may be particularly helpful at this time of the year. Limited to 12 adults. Registration required.


"Native American Genealogy 101" in honor of Native American Heritage Month (in person and virtual)

November is Native American Heritage Month. Join us to explore “Native American Genealogy 101" on Tuesday, Nov. 23 from 6-7 p.m. Tina H. Smith from the Lam Museum of Anthropology at Wake Forest University will discuss the challenges and benefits of this particular research, how to start the process, and more. Sponsored by the Friends of the Lewisville Library. Participants may attend in person (limited capacity) or virtually via Zoom. Registration required for in-person attendance.
