Warm air advection is expected to erode the cold air wedge today, allowing for ozone and particle pollution levels to rise into the middle Code GREEN range. However, widespread showers and thunderstorms generated by a slow-moving cold front will arrive into the state later in the evening and persist the better part of tomorrow, keeping air quality levels well within the Code GREEN range. Drier air moves in behind the front Friday evening and should keep conditions sunny and dry for Saturday and Sunday, providing ample conditions for air quality levels to rise into the upper Code GREEN range for the holiday weekend.
